Time Out says

Mostly Other People Do the Killing has been on a tear in recent years, demonstrating anew why it's one of the most appealing jazz ensembles in town. Led by bassist Moppa Elliott, the local quartet has as much fun laying down a funky, whimsical groove as it does exploding form altogether, resulting in performances that feel at once anarchic and oddly wholesome. Last year, the group turned heads with its wildest endeavor yet, Blue—a note-for-note re-creation of Miles Davis's landmark Kind of Blue—and here it appears in the expanded lineup heard on 2013's vintage-flavored Red Hot. Also on board is a band led by baritone-sax progressive Charles Evans, and the promising trio of drummer Tomas Fujiwara, guitarist Mary Halvorson and saxist Briggan Krauss.
