Time Out says

Opeth singer-guitarist Mikael Åkerfeldt wore his vintage prog-rock fetish on his sleeve for so long, 2014's Pale Communion didn't come as such a surprise. Almost entirely forgoing the death-metal crunch and growl of the Swedish group's salad years, the disc found Opeth playing long, loose and even jazzy at times. This year's follow-up, Sorceress, finds the band going a more diverse route, incorporating some of its older grit into its prog explorations.
