Randy Weston and Billy Harper Duo

You'd be hard-pressed to find two more soulful veteran jazzers than saxophonist Billy Harper and pianist Randy Weston, whose signature styles mix American origins with African diasporic influences. Getting them together was a no-brainer, and the results—as heard on the newly issued CD The Roots of the Blues—are as satisfying as you'd anticipate.
