Shining

Norway's Shining, the brainchild of vocalist-guitarist-saxist Jørgen Munkeby, has shape-shifted strikingly since its early days as an edgy but more or less conventional postbop-jazz outfit. These days, the band plies polished yet off-the-wall alt-metal that can come off like a Nine Inch Nails–King Crimson smashup.
