Wye Oak + Luke Temple

This Baltimore duo built its name playing sad-sack indie rock with touches of folk, but its 2014 disc, Shriek, found the duo swapping guitars for synths and reinventing its sound (reportedly in response to singer Jenn Wasner's guitar-specific writer's block). Last year's Tween consists of song outtakes from the transition period between those two sounds, so expect a range of tunes spanning the stylistic shift.
