Sure, Ridgewood and Astoria have been getting tons of attention, but even Sunnyside, Queens, is well on its way to proving that Brooklyn’s neighboring borough is a worth a visit. Split in half by Greenpoint Avenue, the hood has tons of affordable apartments along with nearby New York attractions that are actually awesome. Head to Queens for a MoMA PS1 Warm Up party or a U.S. Open tennis tournament match and stay for Sunnyside’s trendy restaurants, wine bars and thrift stores than haven’t been picked over by Manhattan masses.
