Time Out says

A pretheater meal needn’t be elaborate; reliability and freedom from anxiety are sometimes more important. At 44 Southwest, you won’t be in glamorous surroundings, but you’ll get a good meal in a timely fashion. The pizzas (try the pesto) are guaranteed to bring you back for take-out. A recent pasta del giorno had a fine, garlicky tangle of rotini, Italian sausage, white beans, spinach and olive oil. The kitchen also grills nearly all the major proteins. Ask about the specials and hope the waitress offers veal Marsala—three tender cutlets and a helping of enormous mushrooms in a lovely wine sauce.
