  • I've lived in NY for almost all of my 35 years and have NEVER been greeted by such an arrogant pr!@k as the self stated "partner" Jeremy who was working as host. First he refused to add our party of four to the HOUR LONG waiting list (they don't take reservations) because only 2 of the 4 people were there. I appreciate that you can't seat us until our party is all present, but come on...you can't add me to an hour long waiting list until my whole party is there. OK...moving on 15 minutes later, our party is all there, now he tells us of our now 45 minute wait and that that even though his bar is over crowded with no seating or even standing space even to rest a drink, if we leave his bar for more than 5 minutes, he'll take us off the list. Not "if I call your table and you're not there I'll seat the next party." If we leave his bar, he'll take us off the list. Apparently if we leave his bar for 20 or 30 minutes he's "taking a reservation" and he doesn't do that. This guys was shockingly rude in both demeanor and policy. I'm embarrassed for Peter Hoffman, whom I know from the neighborhood and have always thought highly of. I would never step foot in this restaurant again for fear of having to interact with Jeremy "the partner", the most obnoxious and arrogant restauranteer I've ever come face to face with. Wow, that was a bad enough experience to have me sitting here at midnight after a lovely dinner at a different neighborhood restaurant, still needing to blast Back Forty online.
