The artsy, handcrafted feel at Cafe Frida begins with the decor (crimson stucco walls, cowhide chairs) and extends to the food on the table. Sip a margarita mixed with fresh mango or pomegranate puree from a handblown goblet while your server prepares chunky, fiery guacamole. Cantina staples, such as enchiladas, are dependable, but the regional dishes, including a peppery lamb shank and short ribs in a tomatillo sauce, are the ones to order.
