The dark-wood paneling and brass railings are a step up from Chinatown decor, but the service doesn’t square with the elevated prices you pay for the tony neighborhood. The food is decent: Deep-fried peach chicken was tender, though overwhelmed by thick sweet peach syrup. Steamed rice-wrapper dumplings were delicately seasoned. Scallion pancakes compete for the best around: a double layer of crisp flakiness, like a flattened triangular croissant. The place also offers standard sushi. The upshot: If you live nearby and you’re craving Chinese, come by—and order take-out.
