The hummus is thick, smooth and served half a dozen ways at this bare-bones, seven-table storefront. Try it on the sublime falafel, which has a slightly crunchy crust and tender center. Or ask for some of the smoky baba ghanoush. The “Israeli” salad gets a light dressing of lemon juice, olive oil and hot peppers. For something different, try malawach, a Yemeni dish of thickly layered bread, fried and served with a hard-boiled egg in light tomato sauce.
