Time Out says

First-time restaurateur Ruth Koga has opened this pint-size restaurant, to supplement New York's sea of sushi bars with Japanese soul food—the everyday cooking of her childhood in Kumamoto. Against a colorful backdrop of red-tiled walls, diners can order from a short menu that includes BBQ kobe beef steak, marinated fried chicken and deep-fried kurobuta pork cutlets.
