Time Out says

In a reasonably ungentrified section of the East Village, this Dominican restaurant does its best impression of its Washington Heights counterparts. The interior resembles a ramshackle diner and the jukebox is prone to irregular outbursts of loud Latin music. The stools at the counter see the most action; here regulars order arroz con pollo, a pile of chicken and yellow rice, and pernil (roast pork), which isn’t as deliciously fatty as it should be. As if to compensate for that, the kitchen deep-fries Dominican sausages and covers them with pickled red onions, which cut the richness. The salty chunks of sausage are especially good when eaten with soft, sweet fried plantains.
