  • Pravda and Balthazar in SoHo. Pastis packed in the Meatpacking District, Schiller's nestled in the Lower East Side, Morandi and Minetta Tavern classically posted in the West Village and now Keith McNally opens Pulino on Bowery Street.. 2 blocks from my shop Cutie Room! A big open kitchen with two gas and wood-fired ovens; one which is just for pizza. This Italian pizza joint evokes Schiller's and Pastis in their deco and vibe. Their unique menu has breakfast pizza (ie: Salsiccia Pizza with eggs, bacon, crumbled sausage, and white Cheddar) and they serve it till 2 pm in afternoon - yay! Surprisingly my favorite food is not their famous pizza - what I <3 heart is their house made Chicken Liver Mousse. It's the best !! And also their baked Ziti & Meatballs is sooo comforting. Recently, Chef Nate Appleman hailing from San Francisco has left as the head chef and is replaced by Tony Liu, who was once a chef at Morandi. The good and bad thing is that the place is super loud and full of energy, while the tables are spaced very close together. It's a great place to eat, see, and be seen depending on your mood. Definitly entertaining to bring guests visiting New York since it is situated on a prime corner of Houston St bordering Soho.
