Manhattan culinary pilgrims and dressed-down locals break bread in the butter-yellow dining room of this unpretentious, but excellent Smith Street bastion. The draw? Le Bernardin alum Saul Bolton’s solid, seasonally inspired New American fare. Thanks to seamless service, a top-notch wine list and such first-rate dishes as a starter of warm salad with chanterelle mushrooms, faro and a poached egg; Maine diver scallops and a miniature baked Alaska, you might never set your fork down anywhere else.
