Time Out says
Wed Feb 24 2010
Tour buses ferry in the blue-hairs and bald heads from out of town, so we were surprised to see only a smattering of diners on a Friday night. But once the food arrived, the reason was clear. The corn bread was delicious, but the wings—which should be a solid foundation for any soul-food joint—were fatty, greasy and undercooked. Entrées such as the famous fried chicken barely met minimum standards, and the ribs’ sauce (now available at your grocer) was disappointing. Greens and grits may make a trip worthwhile, but like many tired attractions in the city, this one is best left to the tourists.
