Alan Kaufman makes his pickles the old-fashioned way, curing them in barrels with salt brine, garlic and spices for up to six months. Not a big fan of the cucumber variety? Kaufman pickles everything from tomatoes and carrots to peppers and pineapples. (Yes, really!)

If tubs of briny veggies make your mouth water then this is the place for you.  Forego the pampered pickle purchasing experiences of your past and pick out a peck of lip-puckering treat from the rows of barrels inhabiting this Costco of preserved cucumbers, olives, tomatoes and more.  It's a tub of fun tasting new varieties and stocking up on your favorites.  Prices are pretty reasonable and the quality is topnotch.  If you are crazy enough to move more than an hour or so from their Flatbush or Lower East Side locations you can order directly off of their website.  One thing that important to mention is that they are closed on Saturdays at both locations.
