Wogie’s claim to having “New York’s best Philly cheese steak” rings true for the herds of twentysomethings who sit in the dark wooden booths to down cheap draft beers and eat various forms of the housewich. The reasonably authentic, surprisingly ungreasy sandwiches honor the young owner’s father, who was as passionate about Philly cheese steaks as he was about New York City. In addition to creations like the Pizza Steak (Provolone, onion and marinara sauce), there are classic choices of Provolone, American or Cheez Whiz (feel free to debate the merits of each). The basket of waffle fries (available with cheese and chili) is a key side dish.
