Bajalia Trading Company bangles, five for $65, at Be the Voice pop-up
Soho
Luxury furniture showroom Voce Di (vocedi.com) plays host to a temporary charity shop from the Nomi Network (nominetwork.org), a nonprofit dedicated to equipping survivors of human trafficking with skills to produce goods for the global market. Fair-trade company Bajalia Trading Company (bajalia.com) curated the 5,000-square-foot space, where you’ll find handcrafted jewelry ($25–$500), accessories ($20–$300), stationery ($10–$35) and T-shirts ($25) manufactured by slave-free organizations, trafficked survivors and members of Nomi Network mentorship programs. Snag Afghani-made jeweled cuffs ($90), hand-loomed scarves ($199) and recycled-rice-material totes bearing the phrase buy her bag not her body ($30). All proceeds benefit humanitarian-aid organizations World Vision (worldvision.org), Restore NYC (restorenyc.org) and the Nomi Network. If you want to learn more, book a free slot online (nominetwork.org/en/voiceoftrafficking) for anti-trafficking panels at Voce Di featuring guest speakers such as White House correspondent Ellen Ratner.
