The prevailing wisdom at Williamsburg buy-sell-trade warehouse Buffalo Exchange is that one man’s garbage is another man’s gear. At this veritable revolving door of inventory, shoppers acquire cash or trade value for their castoffs—either 30 percent of the estimated retail value in greenbacks or 50 percent in trade. If you can handle the intimidatingly overpacked thrift-store-style racks, they’re worth a dig: It’s not uncommon to unearth gems from on-trend labels like Penguin or Diesel.
