I'm simply amazed at the amount of toys from my childhood they had behind glass. It's rare to get those moments when you are transported back in time when you would poke your dad and point at the Robocop action figure and say Pleeeeease! Hypno Tronic Comics have just a great selection from Zombies to Inflated Nun Punching Dolls (Sister Discipline!!!) Their inventory gets bigger and better, they prices have always been fair (especially on the 10th Doctor Who Screwdriver). It's a sanctuary for freaks, geeks, nerds and book worms alike. The owners are there to help you find anything or find it online for you. I personally blame them for my obsession with the graphic novels, The Preacher!

Geekiness and girl power unite at the first female-operated comics store in the five boroughs. Former HR administrator Joy Ghigliotti aims to make the shop chick-friendly by offering quirky jewelry ($3–$50) and bags ($4–$45), alongside comics ($1–$20), action figures ($2–$70) and memorabilia ($5–$20). The 800-square-foot space is packed with an assortment of new and vintage sci-fi, horror, fantasy and pop-culture artifacts ($1–$2,400). Catch up on the latest issue of The Walking Dead ($3) before shopping for Blue Q recycled bags ($18) and windup robot figures ($18). Mention TONY for 10 percent off most items (some vintage exclusions may apply) through December 31.
