Faux goods may rule the block outside of this Canal Street shoe emporium, but everything stocked here is 100 percent authentic. The scene is a mix of tourists and locals, all on the hunt for a fresh pair of kicks. A wall of unisex Converse ($37–$55) commands attention at the entryway, while track jackets made famous by Run-D.M.C. ($35–$80) fill a section of the shop reserved for Adidas’s footwear and apparel. Housing a huge assortment of men’s tees, jeans and hoodies, the shop feels enormous, thanks to vaulted ceilings and a center aisle long enough to do several cartwheels down (though the management may not like that). While most of the merchandise is geared toward males, including sporty North Face backpacks ($99), hooded D-Lux bomber jackets ($65) and LRG fitted caps ($32), we spotted a pair of women’s Nike sneakers ($92) with an awesome pastel swoosh.
