Relax: One-Hour Session

You won’t find exotic oils or aromatherapy in this no-frills spot, but you will find powerful deep-tissue therapy by a team of friendly pros. Owner Rick Sharpell has been using his Swedish Institute-trained hands to heal injuries and combat stress for 22 years, which has made him the go-to guy for marathon runners, fashion designers, and the nearby Wall Street set. The massage guru skillfully walked the line between pleasure and pain as he kneaded the lumpy knots out of my back. After one hour of serious muscle maintenance, my mind was clear and my tense muscles had turned to Silly Putty. Mention TONY when booking or at time of appointment for $10 off a one-hour session with a staff therapist (regularly $95) through March 31st. 212-206-9714, rickrelax.com

White Tea Med Spa: Anti-Aging Stem Cell Facial

I’ve never been a facial fanatic, but Maria Rianna, the lead aesthetician at this day and medical spa that feels like an elegant tearoom, made me a believer by reducing my premature wrinkles and making my skin look radiant, plump, and feeling baby-bottom smooth. For 55 blissful minutes, my skin was pampered with potent natural products to hydrate, heal, and increase collagen production, including a sweet-smelling pumpkin cleanser and serums made of stem cells from Swiss green apples. While my face was busy absorbing nutrients, Maria gave me a hand scrub and upper body massage that melted my stress away. Regularly $150. Mention TONY when booking or at time of appointment for 20 percent off this treatment through February 28th.

Xena’s Beauty Company: Restructuring Hair Repair

  • price 2 of 4

This cozy, unpretentious salon uses Italian brand Framesi to provide what owner Xena Parsons describes as “facials for your hair”, which can treat anyone’s follicle woes. Nina, one of the salon’s stylists, created a customized palate of products to fit my hair’s needs and prepped my scalp with an exfoliating mask along with a mind-blowing massage that almost lulled me to sleep. After a shampoo treatment and conditioning hair mask, my transformed tresses were topped with Framesi’s rich Argan oil and blow-dried to perfection. A few days a couple showers later, my hair is still shiny and softer than ever. Regularly $40. Mention TONY when booking or at time of appointment for 20 percent off any hair and scalp treatment (regularly $20-$40) through March 31st.

Eve Salon: Currant Affairs Pedicure

I’ve been craving the sweet scent of blackcurrants ever since I had this seasonal treatment, which features skincare products and a complimentary cup of tea made with the berries. (For optimum relaxation, go for the option to add crème de cassis to your cup.) My friendly nail specialist Jane had her work cut out for her with my neglected tootsies, but she sloughed off rough skin and perfected my nails without making me flinch. After exfoliating with a sugar scrub, my lower legs and feet were massaged with a blackcurrant body butter, which left my winter-ravaged skin feeling velvety smooth. Regularly $40. Mention TONY when booking or at time of appointment for 25 percent off this treatment through March 31st. 212-807-8054, evesalonnyc.com
