Perhaps another example of the Los Angelesization of NYC, this L.A. brand has finally hopped to the East Coast. But don’t write Poleci off as another Cali-style purgatory of trucker caps and blingy denim: Its womenswear is surprisingly clean and elegant. The whitewashed digs, internally lit tables and 23-foot glass chandelier bring dramatic focus to eye-popping pieces like a short-sleeved dress adorned with a kaleidoscope-esque ikat-print silk ($392). But there are plenty of basics with a twist, like sporty hooded swing jackets ($162) from PII, the brand’s less expensive casual-wear line.
