Elizabeth Arden’s luxurious relaxation den moves two blocks south, to a more contemporary space inside the Ferragamo building. The New York flagship features two floors, 18 treatment rooms, and an outdoor penthouse terrace and sundeck overlooking the Fifth Avenue shops. It’s a welcoming environment that encourages you to spend the day trying out the extensive menu of services, including facials ($45–$255), massages ($80–$250), haircuts ($25–$140) and color ($45–$210), makeup applications ($65–$350) and nail care ($20–$100). Pamper yourself with oxygen-infusion facials (50mins, $255), cream-and-sugar exfoliating body scrubs (50mins, $120) and silky hydrating milk baths (25mins, $45). Afterward, nosh on a smoked Brie, asparagus and truffle sandwich ($22), or niçoise salad coupled with organic-spinach soup ($22) at the Spa Café. Then take a piece of the experience home by picking up products at the boutique, including Prevage antiaging serums with SPF ($159).

If you're in need of a relaxing spa day, you can't go wrong with Red Door. The spa is spotless, with it's comforting decor, super-cleanly changing area and peaceful treatment rooms. I went for a massage and it was the best one I've ever had. The therapist listens to your needs and asks you which essential oils and products you would like them to use. I will definitely be going back.
