Rudy had one of the greatest stores I’ve ever run into. As a long time resident of Queens, I relied upon him over the years to provide wonderful, handcrafted pieces to furnish my home. I thought his store had closed. I’m overjoyed to find out he has resurrected himself in a better location in the East Village. I plan to reconnect. My house and I miss him.
I'm Guatemalan myself so when I first entered Rudy Volcano when it was still located in Jackson Heights, I fell in love. Now in the East Village, it still looks amazing. From the interior to the window display, Rudy knew how to bring Guatemala to New York. The best part is that everything is handmade, personally handpicked and one of a kind; like Luana said, he will tell you all about the item and the story behind it. I'm always excited when I go because he'll find rare beautiful things, definitely not a disappointment.
The new East Village store is a wonderful reinvented showcase for the genius & special world charm that is Rudy Volcano. Am so happy for him and the opportunity to visit the compelling and dynamic shop at 167 Ave. C.
