You won't quite believe the elevator ride down (the theater must be below the subway line), but this spanking-new, surprisingly lofty 99-seat blackbox (built in 2006) doesn't feel subterranean. The Atlantic Theater Company both rents the space out to companies like the Foundry—which produced a recent revival of David Greenspan's The Myopia here—and uses it for developmental work that isn't quite ready to hit its larger venue down the road in the Atlantic's main space.
