Founded in 1984, the Off Broadway company Primary Stages has produced new work by such major playwrights as Horton Foote, Charles Busch, Terrence McNally, David Ives and Conor McPherson. In recent years, the troupe has been nestled in the 196-seat Theater A space at the 59E59 Theaters complex.
