The African-diaspora cultural festival celebrates its 40th anniversary with The Healing Light of Rhythm: Tradition and Beyond, a program designed by artistic director Abdel R. Salaam. Featured performers include New York City's Forces of Nature and Asase Yaa, Philadelphia hip-hoppers Illstyle & Peace Productions and the Guinean-American troupe Wula Drum and Dance Ensemble, all joined by the BAM/Restoration Dance Youth Ensemble.
