Heart & Mind Festival
2/2
If you’ve an interest in ancient wisdom that goes beyond the time that your friend once did a bunch of peyote, you’ll love this urban retreat. The Hearts & Minds Festival brings together spiritual leaders from around the globe for a weekend of talks and celebrations in Brooklyn. Guest speakers include Mayan elder Tata Pedro Cruz, Mohawk elder Kawenno’kera:ne and shamanic teacher Itzhak Beery. You can let your feathered freak flag fly at chanting sessions, traditional ceremonies and film screenings, and sound healing and yoga are also on offer. Friday’s installment takes place at Greenpoint’s Golden Drum, Saturday’s at Awakening (also in Greenpoint), and Sunday’s fete kicks off at Brook Park in the Bronx.

Heart & Mind bridges the gap between the world of ancient wisdom and the modern world. This is a time when this knowledge is greatly needed in order to bring balance back into our culture which is still learning how to live in harmony with nature. We need to have more dialogues with people who understand the importance of a relationship with the spiritual dimension of life. You won't find this on TED :-)
