New Year's Eve Meditation

New Year's Eve Meditation
The Kadampa Meditation Center in Chelsea offers a serene alternative to the flashy excesses of New Year's Eve in NYC. You'll start the evening snacking on hors d'oeuvres, then sit for resident teacher Kadam Morten leading the Buddha of Compassion practice (prayers, mantras, meditation). You'll finish the night setting intentions for the coming year and toasting 2014 with a booze-free beverage. Cruise into New Year's Day with your dignity intact? How very civilized.

Fantastic centre. Kadam Morten's teachings are profound and blissful. A very cool way to start the year. Wish I could be there.

I've been blissfully ringing in the new year at KMC NYC for the past several years. I used to think that there was nowhere I'd rather be than at a Grateful Dead concert on new years eve - well, i found something better.....much better!! (No disrespect, Grateful Dead....it was fun!) Its truly inspiring to see the lovely diverse mix of people cultivating inner peace and good intentions at this time of transformation. Lots of fun and meaningful too. A perfect mix. Happy New Year!
