For those who love suspense, monsters and sleeping with the lights on, this fest's 50-plus film screenings packed into four days are a nightmare (but in a good way) come true. Now in its 14th year, the NYC Horror Film Festival attracts moviemakers with a taste for the macabre, and gives out awards in categories including Best Horror Feature, Best Sci-Fi Feature, Best Shot and Best Director.
