The Golden Age of Television Drama

Vintage small-screen offerings are the subject of this screening series. Film historian Philip Harwood has chosen eight ’50s and ’60s television films and specials, highlighting a particularly fertile period of creative output and critical acclaim for the box. Each screening will be followed by a discussion of production (the selected dramas were all performed live on national television) and social issues of the time.
