This poltergeist-chasing expedition runs from St. Mark’s Church to Washington Square Park, covering hidden burial grounds, murder scenes and public execution sites along the way. Each of the near-dozen stories told has been researched by tour guide and published horror author Andrea Janes (Boroughs of the Dead: New York City Ghost Stories). One stop is 14 W 10th St, where author Jan Bryant Bartell (Spindrift: Spray from a Psychic Sea) was driven to near insanity by alleged paranormal activity while living there in the late 1950s and ’60s. Years later in the 1980s, attorney Joel Steinberg murdered his six-year-old daughter in the very same house. Meet at St. Mark’s Church in the Bowery, Second Ave at 10th St (boroughsofthedead.com). Subway: L to First Ave.
