The 19th-century nationalist Vojta Náprstek had two passions: modern technology and primitive cultures. Although the gadgets he collected are now in the National Technical Museum, the ethnographic oddities he acquired from numerous Czech travellers can be seen here in an extension to his house. The displays concentrating on the native peoples of the Americas, Australasia and the Pacific Islands are interesting and arranged in exemplary fashion. Temporary exhibitions tend to favour travelogues of exotic cultures by Czech photographers.
