Opened in 2006, this boutique hotel's location, near the Forum but on a picturesque street comfortably off the tourist trail, affords it a more exclusive feel than its sister hotels, The Inn and The View at the Spanish Steps. The rooms are an elegant mix of rich fabrics and antiques; the spacious deluxe double rooms - some with their own fireplace - have canopied beds and marble bathrooms. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace or in a cosy room with open fire in the winter. You can get an ancient-Rome fix on the ground floor, where a crypt is being excavated by archaeologists: curious guests are welcome to have a peek.
