If you happen to be in Trastevere with nothing much to do, you could take in this modest museum and be pleasantly surprised, especially if you have children along. A small collection of watercolours by Ettore Roesler Franz illustrates scenes of everyday 19th-century Roman life; a series of rooms with waxwork tableaux shows humble folks drinking in the osteria, dancing the saltarello or playing the zampogne (bagpipes). There are also occasional photographic exhibitions.
