This museum displays prehistoric Italian artefacts together with material from a range of world cultures. The lobby contains a reconstruction of the prehistoric Guattari cave near Monte Circeo (see chapterTrips Out of Town), with a genuine Neanderthal skull. On the first floor is the ethnological collection, with a range of hut-urns, arrowheads, jewellery, masks and a couple of shrunken heads. The second floor has archaeological finds from digs all over Italy, including mammoth tusks and teeth, and some human bones.
