Singapore Science Festival
Budding scientists can explore the wonderful worlds of biology, physics and chemistry in events taking place across Singapore. The three-day X-periment! Carnival gives children a chance to see what goes on behind the scenes at universities, research institutions and companies, while Sidewalk Astronomy lets them peer into the night sky. The Science Buskers Festival showcases the skills of enthusiasts, and the STAR Lecture ($10) has a professor show the audience the extraordinary things they can do with a lightbulb, a telephone and a motor.
Tokimonsta: The Deep End
The second edition of The Deep End welcomes Tokimonsta for a dizzying blend of instrumental hip hop and dance. Groove to her soundscapes, with Zushan supporting.
Singin' in the Rain
Expect rain and plenty of it, too, as the West End musical splashes into town with a set design that promises a whopping 12,000l of water per show. Adapted from the eponymous 1952 movie, the story follows Don Lockwood as he and his peers leave the silent screen behind to embrace the talkies. Listen out for a string of beloved songs from the original score including ‘Good Morning’, ‘Make ’em Laugh’ and, of course, ‘Singin’ in the Rain’.
Paul Husner: On Bali
The Switzerland-born, Bali-based artist showcases 17 new works featuring scenes of Bali in his second solo show with One East Asia. Find out more about Paul Husner here.
