Dubai, 1 August 2022: Time Out Market Dubai brings the best of the city together under one roof; the best chefs, much-loved restaurateurs, unique cultural experiences and now a beautifully curated mural wall by Emirati artist, Abdulla Lutfi.
With two monochromatic creations proudly installed at the Market, visitors are sure to be amazed by the detailed work that signifies the importance of the city’s roots as well as how far it has come. Depicting the old and new Dubai, the artworks have one common aspect – the community coming together to enjoy what the city has to offer, just what Time Out Market Dubai is all about.
The artist, Abdulla Lutfi, is a young and spontaneous expressionist who holds many accomplishments including securing several art commissions from hotels, banks, and has his art on display at Dubai International Airport. His popular and impactful drawings were also exhibited on World Autism Awareness Day at the Terra – the Sustainability Pavilion which was part of Expo 2020. As an artist on the autism spectrum, Abdulla views the world in an unconventional way leading him to create pieces of art that are to be celebrated throughout time. Proud of his amazing memory, attention to detail, and the impact value of his work, his distinct black and white drawings attract viewers to take a closer look into the humorous glimpse of everyday Emirati life.
“I am a black and white artist on the autism spectrum but that doesn’t hold me back from achieving anything. I am what I am today only because of my talent and hard work. People recognize me now because my work is displayed all over the UAE. My artwork represents the UAE in the past and the present,” commented the Artist, Abdulla Lutfi.

Abdulla Lufti’s two artworks at Time Out Market Dubai represent the growth and innovation which the city has experienced and just how gracefully the community has accepted and adapted to it. The first illustration embodies the innocence of the city, taking viewers right back to how old Dubai used to be. With the depiction of children playing games that hold memories close to home and the long-standing Middle Eastern architecture, the art represents a period of simplicity in social interactions, activities, and environment. The second illustration shows progress, depicting not only the Dubai landscape but also how society is interacting in an era of rapid technological advancement and vast entertainment choices. Also represented are some of the most iconic tourist destinations such as the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, and Dubai Frame, showing how far along Dubai has come.
Guests can travel across time with these mesmerising, intricate and detailed pieces of art which are now grandly installed on Time Out Market Dubai’s mural wall next to the Fountain Bar near The Stage.
For all cultural enthusiasts who are keen to view the mural, Time Out Market Dubai is open from 12pm to midnight Monday to Thursday, 12pm to 1am on Friday, 10am to 1am on Saturday and 10am to 12am on Sunday. Guests can come to see the masterpiece as well as enjoy delectable dishes from 18 homegrown foodie favourites by award-winning chefs and restaurateurs, and visit three stunning bars and entertainment spaces.
