London's calling! And now, getting there from Southeast Asia just got a little more affordable, thanks to AirAsia X's new long-haul route.

AirAsia X has announced two long-awaited international routes connecting Kuala Lumpur to Bahrain and onwards to London Gatwick (KUL-BAH-LGW), marking a bold step beyond its traditional Asia-Pacific network. The new service launches on 26 June 2026, with Bahrain positioned as AAX’s first global hub. It’ll soon be a strategic bridge between Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

The Bahrain–London leg will be the airline’s second Fifth-Freedom route, signalling its growing ambition to tap into the global budget travel market. In other words: long-haul for less.

To celebrate the launch, AirAsia X is rolling out introductory promotional fares from RM99 one-way to Bahrain and RM199 one-way to London from Kuala Lumpur. Subsequent fares start from RM299 and RM399, respectively. And if you need more leg room, the airline’s award-winning Premium Flatbed seats are available from RM2,999 one-way.

Flights are bookable from now until February 22, 2026 for travel between June 26 and November 30, 2026 via airasia.com and the AirAsia MOVE app.

The KL-Bahrain service departs daily at 10pm, arriving 12.40am, while the return leaves Bahrain at 8.55pm, landing in Kuala Lumpur at 9.55am. From there, passengers can connect onwards to London Gatwick via Bahrain on daily services.

All aboard for Big Ben, West End shows, and Borough Market bites. Travelling from Southeast Asia to London will now be much more affordable. Plus, you can even plan a stop in Bahrain for a day or two and visit popular attractions such as the Al Fateh Grand Mosque and Bahrain Fort.
