Drinking too much coffee might make you feel a little light-headed – but at this newest Starbucks outlet, you'll be sipping your latte above the clouds, with sweeping views of northern Vietnam's misty peaks. Opened in March 2026, Starbucks Vietnam has unveiled Starbucks Fansipan, earning the title of the highest Starbucks coffeehouse in Asia, perched at 3,063m above sea level.

As its name suggests, the café sits atop Fansipan Mountain – often dubbed the Roof of Indochina. Here, caffeine lovers can take in sweeping views of the Sapa region while enjoying their brew, surrounded by the misty peaks and fluffy clouds of northern Vietnam.

The store’s design draws inspiration from the surrounding mountain landscape. You’ll notice subtle hints of the colonial facades found throughout Sapa, with fluted local textiles on the exterior blending with Starbucks’ signature green. Inside, the colour palette leans toward warm, earthy tones, with sage green and soft beige accents setting a cosy mood. Lush greenery is dotted throughout the space, tying in with the natural environment outside.

To celebrate the launch, Starbucks Vietnam has also introduced the Cloud Macchiato series, available hot or iced from now until March 20, 2026. Taking its cue from the plush clouds in the sky, the drink features airy cloud foam layered over milk and espresso, topped with a sweet caramel drizzle.

So, is this newest Starbucks in Vietnam worth the climb? The Starbucks Fansipan store is located at Sân Mây within the Sun World Fansipan Legend complex. If you’re already planning to take the cable car up to the summit (tickets cost around SGD$35.80), this café makes for a worthwhile pit stop, though don't make the climb just for Starbucks unless you're a completist collector. After all, the real draw is the view of mountain peaks above the clouds, though sipping a cup of coffee while at it is definitely a bonus.
