It's the weekend! You've worked hard to get to this point, so you deserve to play hard, too. We've curated our favorite events happening around Austin for the next few days, from pop-ups to festivals to grand openings—all you have to do is round up your crew. Have a great weekend, y'all!

Fri 27

Austin Film Festival
The biggest film festival in Austin is back, starting today and continuing until November 2. Film screenings, conferences, panels, script readings, parties and more take place over a week dedicated to the artists and fans behind the art of film. Through Nov 2 at various times

Oktoberfest at Banger's
Banger's Sausage and Beer Garden brings back an epic Oktoberfest this weekend, full of German food (
bierwurst, spaetzle, schnitzel, weisswurst and German potato cakes), polka music, games and more. Oh, and there will be plenty of beer—a keg will be tapped in the beer garden with free pints given out. Leiderhosen encouraged. Through Sun at noon

Sat 28

AIA Austin Homes Tour
There's a lot of daydreaming that happens on the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Austin Homes Tour, an annual self-guided exploration showcasing 13 houses around the Texas capital. Designed to promote architectural excellence and quality craftsmanship, the event sees each house opened to ticket holders on October 28 and 29, when you can peruse the residences on your own schedule. Get your tickets here. Sat & Sun at 10am

Central Library Grand Opening
After months of delays, the Austin Central Library is finally hosting its grand opening this Saturday with an all-day fête dedicated to the new building. And it's a real beauty—complete with a butterfly garden, reading porches overlooking the lake and a tech petting zoo, the library is one of our city's most important architectural additions in recent years. Stop by, get a library card (if you don't have one already) and check out a couple books! Sat at 10am

Austin Margarita Festival
Margaritas are seasonally-appropriate year-round in Austin, and at this fall festival you can try a classic or some curveballs (chocolate, anyone?). Vote for your favorite in the Best Margarita Competition or just sip and stare at the skyline across the river. Sat at noon

Sun 29

Jeffrey's Bagel Brunch
Class up your Sunday brunch with this Clarksville restaurant's family-style bagels, a smoked fish platter, buckwheat blinis, scrambled eggs and a pastry feast, all included in the $40 ticket. Coffee comes from Stumptown, but the kicker is an extra caviar service for $60. Live it upSun at 10am
