Adelaideans are the most likely to go on dates, while Brisbanites top the charts for flirting

We’ve got some spicy news for you! Ahead of the most romantic day of the year, Time Out set out to find Australia’s sexiest cities. From flirt factor to date-night dedication, we analysed who’s really turning up the charm. Plot twist: it’s not Sydney or Melbourne, it’s Adelaide!
We asked more than 1,300 members of our Time Out Loud community five delightfully saucy questions: how often they a) see someone attractive, b) go on a date, c) flirt, d) have a night out that might lead to romance and e) have sex. Oh la la!
After tallying the results, Adelaide came out on top as the sexiest city in all of Australia, with a total score of 4.83 out of five. Adelaidians are more likely to go on dates or have date nights than those in other capitals, and they’re the second-most likely to flirt or get frisky.
Planning a romantic getaway to Adelaide or just looking for date-night inspo? We recommend taking a sunset stroll along Glenelg or Henley Beach, grabbing a drink at the beautiful Bibliotheca Bar and Book Exchange, or escaping to the Adelaide Hills for a dreamy weekend away.
Brisbane came in hot as Australia’s second sauciest city, scoring 4.72 overall. It topped the charts as the flirtiest city, the most likely to have sex and the most likely to enjoy a night out that might lead to romance. The downside? Brisbane lost points for date nights and ranked second-lowest in the top five for spotting someone attractive.
Sydney and Melbourne were neck-and-neck for third and fourth in the sexy cities list. They were the least flirty and least likely to have a night out that might spark romance, but Sydney led the pack for spotting attractive people, with Melbourne close behind.
Perth landed in fifth place on Australia’s spiciest city list, though its score took a hit thanks to locals being far less likely to spot someone attractive. Apparently, they’re all hiding in Brisbane and Adelaide.
