There’s no beating around the bush: life is heccas expensive right now. After paying rent, fuel, utilities and groceries, there isn’t much left over to spend on the things that actually bring us joy. But there’s a handy app helping Australians stretch their dollars further – and the savings cover everything from everyday essentials to flights, hotels, dining and epic travel experiences.

Those who grew up in Australia might recognise the Entertainment Book. Created in 1994, the chunky, gold coupon book was a school fundraiser favourite. While the physical book is a thing of the past, its legacy lives on digitally, meaning you can still access those same legendary deals from your phone via one clever app.

The discounts are pretty handy for frequent flyers. Jetsetters can score five per cent off Virgin Australia flights, covering more than 35 domestic and international routes. Additionally, you can save up to ten per cent off Qatar Airways fares to a whole bunch of destinations in Europe, Africa, South Asia, the Americas and more.

For Aussies keen to explore their own backyard, the Entertainment app is a nifty travel companion. Luxe holidaygoers can save ten per cent off the best available rate at premium properties, like Hyatt Hotels, Spicers Retreats and Bannisters. For even better value, there’s a 20 per cent discount at Vibe Hotels, Adina Apartment Hotels, Rendezvous Hotels and Travelodge Hotels, plus a handful of boutique offerings. Think: Sea World Resort or Turtle Beach Resort for a fun family-friendly getaway, or Drift Palm Cove and Meridian Port Douglas for a relaxed solo escape.

The benefits extend far beyond flights and hotels too, spanning everything from campervan rentals and cruises to theme parks and local dining. If you’re keen to save money, you can sign up for a $75 Entertainment membership here. It’s worth it: the membership typically pays for itself after just one or two uses!
