Noosa has no shortage of excellent eateries that buzz with locals and travellers from dusk until well after dawn. Many of the town’s trendiest restaurants line the iconic Hastings Street, while the fanciest spots sit mere metres from the golden sands of Main Beach. This summer, the strip is set to heat up even more with the news that Michelin-trained chef Alessandro Pavoni and his wife Anna – the duo behind Sydney’s Maestro Hospitality group (Ormeggio at The Spit, Chiosco, Postino Osteria and Vineria Luisa) – are opening their first venue outside of NSW. It’s a win for Noosa locals and those who love a Sunshine Coast vacay.
In January, the Pavonis opened Cibaria Manly – an all-day beachfront Italian eatery that’s already a hit with Sydneysiders. Now, they’re set to launch Cibria Noosa – a dynamic three-in-one venue featuring a walk-in bar, trattoria and poolside terraza.

Chef Alessandro says, “Just like Cibaria Manly, this will be a space that embraces the European way of socialising, all day, every day. Where a caffé turns into an aperitivo, turns into a meal with friends with incredible wines. It is a meeting place for friends, for families, or a late-night cocktail and gelato after your passeggiata along the beachfront."
Taking over the former Noosa Beach House site, Cibaria Noosa will transform Sofitel Noosa’s prime open-air dining space in the heart of Hastings Street. Like the Pavonis’ other venues, the menu will be deeply rooted in Italian traditions, led by head chef Lucas Bach.

For a casual bite and bevvie, guests can hit up the walk-in-only Bar Capri out front. Beyond, the trattoria will showcase various ‘ria’s’, including an antipasteria (appetisers), cruderia (raw starters), braceria (grill), forneria (bakery), spaghetteria (pasta) and gelateria. The crown jewel will be the Lily Pond Terrazza – a serene poolside setting perfect for all-day dining and group affairs.
Cibaria is set to open in time for summer 2025, giving us yet another excuse to book a Sunshine Coast getaway. Who’s coming?
