Enjoy luxury and style at this modern hotel located in one of Barcelona's up-and-coming areas. The Barcelona Princess has a rooftop infinity pool, numerous free services including a gym and sauna, and nearby attractions including a next-door shopping centre, beaches a short walk away, and easy access to the rest of the city.

This area of Barcelona has seen a lot of re-development in recent times, and is now home to gleaming office buildings soaring into the sky and modern trams quietly transporting passengers; proximity to the beach and traditional spots such as the Rambla de Poblenou means you can enjoy a stay of contrasts, fun and relaxation at the Barcelona Princess. The hotel is itself one of the new constructions, a memorable building that offers incredible views of the sea, city and landscape beyond. It has around 360 bedrooms, most of which are doubles although there are also triples and quadruples plus a number of suites; all the rooms are light, clean and practical. Undoubtedly one of the biggest draws at the hotel is the rooftop pool. Situated on the 23rd floor (85 metres up, making it among the highest in Barcelona), the infinity pool lets you enjoy a privileged swimming experience; and afterwards you can relax on the terrace and revel in the views. And if you fancy trying a different kind of pool, head down to the 3rd floor and its heated pool, which is adjoined by a gym, sauna and the Gym Bar, serving seasonal dishes, Med-inspired creations and quality Italian food, as well as a range of colourful cocktails.

Location: Well-placed for shopping, chilling at the beach, and exploring the neighbourhoods of Poblenou and Sant Martí, there are numerous amenities close to the Barcelona Princess. It’s also minutes from the CCIB Convention Centre and the Parc del Fòrum, which regularly hosts major cultural events such as the Primavera Sound and Cruïlla music festivals. This accommodation is out of the centre but you have metro, tram and bus stops just metres from the hotel, making it simple to get to any point of Barcelona.

Nearby:

Barcelona Urban Forest: If you feel the need to get legally high, check out this activity park full of zip lines, wobbly bridges and other challenges to your balance and bravery. Suitable from age 5 and with different options and difficulty according to height, it’s best to book in advance as opening hours vary during the year.

Palo Alto market: This monthly pop-up outdoor market has been a city favourite since it launched a few years back. Held in a one-time factory that is also home to numerous design studios, you’ll find a changing roster of local artisans, live music, and food trucks and other gastronomy options.

Diagonal Mar: While this isn’t the newest shopping centre in Barcelona, it is right next door to the hotel and houses all the high-street faves such as Primark, Sephora and Mango along with more upmarket options and numerous places to eat and drink to give you the energy to keep spending!

Boo Restaurant and Beach Club: A stylish spot right on Nova Mar Bella beach, Boo has become one of the most popular restaurants and clubs in the area. The menu features excellent seafood and seasonal options, while the wine and cocktail list is satisfyingly lengthy.

Balius: OK, this one might be stretching the concept of 'nearby' a little bit, but we recommend making the effort to get to this cocktail bar because of its selection of drinks made with vermouth. What’s more, they make a variety of creative snacks and tapas using organic produce and sustainable fish wherever possible.

Good for: Pretty much anyone. Young couples and groups will enjoy the rooftop pool, bar, gym and nearby features such as the Diagonal Mar shopping centre, while families will be happy with the easy access to parks, museums and beaches. Business travellers will find themselves close to many offices as well as the CCIB Convention Centre while the hotel itself is also geared up to organising work events.

Amenities: Rooftop pool, Free WiFi, Free minibar, Sauna, Gym, Laundry, Restaurant, Bar, Room service.

Time Out tip: Stay connected and in touch while you're at the Barcelona Princess, thanks to the free smartphone offered to each room, which you can synchronise with your own phone. It gives you unlimited calls to certain places, including Europe, China and Russia, and also the chance to take advantage of a special online guide.
