Lanzarote's best hotels
Arrecife Gran Hotel & Spa
Splash out on this five-star hotel and you can be literally splashing in the sea within a minute of leaving the property. A super swish rooftop bar and restaurant offer fancy Mediterranean grub served up with swoon-worthy sea views while the spa and indoor pool complete the feeling of total unapologetic indulgence.
Barceló Teguise Beach - Adults Only
If you can’t manage the arduous three-minute walk to the beach, there’s always the pretty palm-tree lined pool, where you can join other sun worshipers on one of the Balinese beds like the baller you are. And unlike the beach, at least here you can be sure there are no wailing children around to disrupt your chill-time, as this hotel is strictly a kid-free zone.
Seaside Los Jameos Playa
This stunning jigsaw of a resort offers multiple pools, four tennis courts and clusters of shade-giving palm trees. The beach is a three-minute stroll away but with live music, dancing, volleyball and BBQ nights all kicking off on the terrace, you’ll need serious willpower to tear yourself away.
Modern suites provide the perfect base after a hard day lounging in the pool, soaking up the bubbles in the jacuzzi (or the cheeky bucks fizz at breakfast), or catching some rays on the beach, which is a mere ten minute walk away. It’s a tough life.
Occidental Lanzarote Mar
Does the thought of pool-side lounging leave you with itchy feet? The more active among you can make the most of the Olympic sized pool. Plus, with a children’s club, playground, mini-golf and life-size football table, there’s plenty to keep the kids occupied while the big kids make the most of the poolside bar and accompanying evening entertainment.
Hotelito La Era B&B
For a relaxing rustic retreat, choose this charming B&B up in the mountains, which you can admire from the lush garden. The rooms are snug but if you’re the kind of person who appreciates traditional beams, exposed stone-work and tiled murals then you’ll find this place a dream.
Aequora Lanzarote Suites
With two buffets to choose from and an à la carte restaurant with a Spanish menu, the food offerings are decent but that’s not all you’ll be writing home about. Five outdoor heated pools mean multiple locations to perfect your ‘hot dogs or legs?’ Insta shots. Don’t spend hours choosing a room as whatever suite you opt for, you’ll end up with a balcony or a terrace.
Hotel Casa Del Embajador
This hotel’s decor is definitely more traditional than trendy but you won’t be spending much time in your room when you can be sinking into a deckchair, with a book in hand and the sound of waves lapping at the rocks below. Its incredible beachfront location means you can be diving into the crystal clear sea under an azure sky, within moments of stepping out of your bathrobe and into your swimwear.
El Jallo - Adults Only
Looking for eco-friendly accommodation? This 17th century refurb should float your sustainable boat. It’s all natural wood, beamed ceilings and dramatic countryside views. Breakfast is organic and locally sourced, naturally, and there’s an outside pool so it’s not totally indulgence-free.
Hotel The Volcán Lanzarote
The atmospheric entrance to this hotel through a church with music playing sounds OTT but it certainly leaves an impression. As does the rest of this hotel, which has five swimming pools, four restaurants and a hot tub thrown in for good measure.
