Gimlet

The decor is simple, but at no time will you feel out of place. There's something about this cocktail bar that conveys a special warmth (it's likely the mahogany bar). This is a real bar, and the bartender understands neophytes and can recommend a cocktail that won't fail to please the palate. Even if you aren't a newcomer to various cocktails, if you don't like juggling cocktail recipes without a safety net, you know what to order: a good gimlet, the bar itself so named because they're the best in Barcelona. I'm convinced that if Philip Marlowe existed, he'd have set up a tent outside the door of this veteran cocktail bar.
