Time Out says

4 out of 5 stars

'A healthy bakery? It is, to the extent that it gives you pleasure, and that's always healthy.' Maria Victoria of La Petita de la Gran knows what she's talking about. This pastry chef has a doctorate in biochemistry and trained at Barcelona's prestigious Hofmann School of Hostelry. And even though she makes some trendsetting treats (dark chocolate mousse cake with almond praline mousse, crispy almond and a chocolate crumble base, anyone?) with the highest-quality eggs, sugar, butter and chocolate, it will still take you on a direct route to pleasure and make your sweet tooth sing. And that's just what every pastry chef hopes to accomplish, of course.

This shop with a visible working area – which gives all the confidence in the world – is a favourite of the residents in the area. It's as great a spot for a daily coffee and croissant or  a biscuit to take away as it is for an incredible creation of a cake to celebrate a special occasion.
